At South Paw Canada, we want to help you successfully grow your business through great marketing. One effective way to reach new clients is through tradeshows. Going to a tradeshow is a great way to get the word out about your business, but it can be difficult to distinguish yourself from the competition. The best way to make sure you stand out from the crowd is to prepare ahead of time so that you feel ready when you go out on the show floor. Here are some tips on how to prepare for a tradeshow:
- Determine your objective. Before you commit to a tradeshow, make sure you identify your objective for your exhibit–for example, do you want to increase brand awareness, or maybe launch a new product? Knowing your objective ahead of time will help you formulate your plan of attack and refine your strategy. It can also help you determine whether a particular tradeshow will be a worthwhile use of your resources.
- Book early. Once you’ve decided to attend a tradeshow, book your booth and make any travel arrangements as soon as possible. Booking your space early will allow you to choose the best location on the show floor and will often save you money through early bird discount policies. Many tradeshows allow you to book exhibit space as much as a year in advance.
- Research the other exhibitors. A few weeks before the show, take the time to study the exhibitors list. Identify any competitors, as well as any potential clients you want to deal with (suppliers, distributors). Make a list of people you want to meet and map out their booth numbers so you can find them easily when you want to network.
